The King of Alva breaks the 10 pound barrier!!

Lake Okeechobee King of Alva! While I am in Florida guiding I stay with a great friend of mine named Randy May.  I cannot tell you how grateful and appreciative I am for everything Randy has done for me over the years to help my fishing career.  He always has an open door for me and my family and for that I humbled by his offerings.  On a recent fishing trip with Randy and a good friend Matt S. Randy hooked this trophy while flipping artificial baits to reed heads.  After Randy hooked the fish we dropped the Power Poles down to give him a chance on landing this monster out of some thick grass.  Luckily with Spiderwire Stealth Braid and a Denali Flipping stick Randy had no issue getting the fish into the boat.   The fish tipped the scales at 10 pounds 12 ounces.  After a few pics and some measuring the fish was released back in the Big O healthy so she could finish her spawning activities.

Since this is Randy’s largest bass to date we have decided to have a replica made to remember the great trip.  I only use one Taxidermy service for any of my trophies so this fishes replica will be done by Mr. Bill Fulcher of Bills Taxidermy in Indiana.  If you ever have questions or need a mount done send me a message and I will put you in contact with Bill.  He can make your hunting and fishing trophies last a lifetime and his attention to detail is second to none.
